Subway take new premises on Granby Street


Acting on behalf a London based owners, APB have disposed of 37 Granby Street, Leicester, to Subway.

The retail premises offered a large open plan ground floor area with basement on one of the main roads into Leicester City Centre.

The new tenants, Subway, have recently vacated a store on Granby Street as it was not large enough to cope with current demand. The new store has had a full re-fit and will be open for trading within the next 4 weeks

Guv Singh of Subway said:

“Subway have always had a town centre presence and with the new Council office opening on Granby Street, our former store did not provide enough retail space to cater for the demand we were experiencing. We had reached lease end at our existing lease and the opportunity arose to take No. 37 Granby Street, doubling our trading area”

“We knew that the location worked for us, and we are currently in the process of fully fitting out the new store with Subways new retail specification”

“We are committed to retailing in Leicester and look forward to opening our doors in the near future”

“We have noticed a distinct increase in requirements for Granby Street, within the last 6 – 12 months and we are now in discussions with a tenant for the former Jessops units that we are marketing in the same block”

“We understand that the City Centre needs to be a vibrant and desirable place and with the new lettings on Granby Street, we feel that the overall outlook improved”

“Also further to this letting, we have brought two more retail units to the market in this location, one on a leasehold basis and one of a freehold”
